Paint the World's Fiscal Sponsorship program is one of the many ways we support other change makers and creative activists - people who set out to create meaningful change around the world. As a social change catalyst, fiscal sponsorship provides the opportunity to seek fiscal management of nonprofit contributions.

What is a Fiscal Sponsorship?
As a fiscal sponsor, Paint the World provides fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to help build the capacity of projects that use creativity to drive positive social change. Fiscal sponsorship enables your project to apply for and receive grants and tax-deductible contributions through our status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Collaboration is part of our mission, and we love nurturing innovative projects and organizations who may be enabled to make greater change by being fiscally sponsored.
Paint the World adheres to best practices in fiscal sponsorship to ensure transparency and impact.
Benefits and Services
Paint the World handles the administrative burdens of having your own standalone foundation through back-office administration, financial management, and IRS compliance. Our fee, 4-6% on deposits (higher percentage if less, lower percentage if more), is proudly the lowest in the fiscal sponsorship industry, ensuring more of your charitable dollars go directly to your charitable mission.
Fiscal Sponsorship vs independent 501(c)3
Fiscal sponsees have low overhead costs, which provides more time to focus on the mission at hand. Additionally, set-up time hovers around 3-5 business days, while it takes 6-9 months to receive 501(c)3 status from the IRs. Fiscal sponsees also avoid nonprofit formation state requirements (I.e. nonprofit corporation formation, board of directors, bylaws, etc.)
How to partner with ptw
The first step is to complete our application for fiscal sponsorship here. This helps us gather the information we need to support you best at this stage of your journey. It helps us learn more about your charitable mission, location, expected expenses, and other related items. The application is free, non-binding, and takes roughly 5-10 minutes to complete. We will reply to your application within the week.
Eligibility
- Applications are open to U.S. Tax Identification Number (TIN) holders and/or small organizations with an EIN where Awardee is affiliated, regardless of location.
- Individual artist projects and/or small organizations will be considered.
- Projects must demonstrate artistic aim or vision and organizations should ideally be community-oriented. Please note that applications are not judged by artistic quality or merit.
- Applications will be accepted and selected on a rolling basis, at Paint the World's discretion.
- Solicitation: The Sponsee is responsible for requests for gifts and contributions to fund their project.

Program Offerings
- Access to large-scale funding opportunities from foundations or corporate funders that are usually restricted to 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.
- The ability to offer individual donors the incentive of tax-deductible donations.
- Intake of online donations via a website portal with a payout system of earnings that are automatically distributed on a monthly basis.
Deadline & Notification
- Applications are accepted on a rolling basis with a four-week review timeline. Paint the World staff will reach out regarding the status of your application within this time frame.
Fee Structure
- There is no fee to apply for Paint the World's Fiscal Sponsorship Program.
- Paint the World receives monetary donations to make disbursements for the Project minus a 4-6% administration fee applied to the amounts of all such disbursements.
